Good grief, has the world gone so incredibly mad we must argue over the definition of the word truth?!?
Broccoli exists = truth
Broccoli tastes good = opinion (non-truth)
Is the idea of truth really more difficult to understand than that?
Responds the “intellectual”: “Opinion = self-truth? i.e. broccoli tastes good to some people; therefore, that is their truth. However, that is not true for everyone just broccoli lovers”
On what day in history was common sense expelled from the university?
But I guess if we must, we must.
From Dictionary.com
1: the true or actual state of a matter: He tried to find out the truth.
2: conformity with fact or reality; verity: the truth of a statement.
3: a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like: mathematical truths.
The above words appear to capture the idea reasonably well, so perhaps not much more need be said…unless we desire to dig a hole and bury the tragic falsehoods infecting society today: that truth is relative and is irrelevant when in conflict with feelings.
The authors of the below linked articles and videos dig deep into the terra firma exposing the idea of truth and the foundation of knowing…anything.
