Why the Armory?

In the current educational environment, one can grow up not realizing the Christian faith rests squarely on a solid foundation of logic and evidence.  As the internet grows, so reduces the distance between your fingertips and that foundation, and the likelihood of you discovering it.  This website is one of many attempting to guide your fingertips to the foundation on which true hope rests.

From the Holy Book:

1 Peter 3:15 – But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect ~ From: Biblehub.com

Of course, by citing an ancient Bible verse we immediately open ourselves to the question “Why should we believe the Bible?”, don’t we? And there lies an entrance to the road of Christian Apologetics.  (A collection of articles addressing that topic can be found here: Is the Bible Reliable?.)

Discovering the reliability of the Bible continues a journey you may not realize you began years ago.  What was the first step you took on that journey?  Determining how you will respond to the question: Does God exist?. Whether we admit it or not, how we live our lives showcase our belief in His existence and nature.  Do you believe you are a good person and when the weight of your good deeds is measured against your bad, God will look on you with a smile (especially when compared to other dastardly people)?  Well, that is an assumption of His nature.  Is that really how God judges?  Wouldn’t you like to have assurance to the response to that question?

This website looks to help the seeker find answers to those questions by providing links to resources found on the World Wide Web.

Please feel encouraged and don’t ever stop seeking the truth.

Additional Bible passages that serve as inspiration for this website.

Ephesians 6:10-17  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Hebrews 5:11-14  We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand.  In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again.  You need milk, not solid food!  Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.  But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Ecclesiastes 11:1-6  Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return.  Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.  If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth.  Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie.  Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.  As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.  Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

Matthew 28:16-20  Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
