We are asked to trust in Christ for the forgiveness of our sins, but based on what?  The Bible?  Why in the world should we trust that?

Is the Bible Reliable?

Wasn’t the Bible written centuries after the events it claims to record?  Hasn’t translation upon translation corrupted the original content?  Isn’t the current amalgamation of books nothing more than propaganda selected by politicians posing as theologians?

If we cannot trust that the Bible records Jesus’ life and ministry accurately, then why suffer our lives to the commitment to impossible ideals, why reject the endless pleasures of this world, why submit our lives to this…Christ?

The arguments against the authenticity and accuracy of the Bible are so embedded in the modern zeitgeist that society at large regards the arguments as common sense.  But what if these arguments prove to be as false as goofy old wives’ tales?  Like touching a frog gives you warts, or eating bread crust causes curly hair, or submitting your life to Christ requires suffering the commitment to impossible ideals and rejecting all pleasure.

If it turns out that we can trust the Bible, might trusting in Christ be of all things…reasonable?
